Tips for Grilling Burgers
  • Ground meats are notorious for harboring bacteria. Make sure to cook ground beef, ground veal, ground buffalo, ground pork and ground turkey to 165F.
  • If you are lucky enough to have the butcher grind beef for you, you can go for a medium (150F) or medium-well burger (160F).
  • Ground meats with high percentage of fat (85% or 93% lean) will produce juicier burgers.
  • Make burger patties ¾”-1” thick to prevent them from drying out.
  • Also, don’t press the burger patties into the grill grate with the spatula. This causes juices to leak out, producing a dryer burger.

Jenn's Burgers

1 lb ground beef, 93% lean (we're health nuts over here)
1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Mrs. Dash

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

Grill burgers, over medium heat or broil 4 inches from heat for 5-7 min on eash side or until a emat thermometer reads 160F and juices run clear.

Jenn's Turkey Burgers

1 lb ground turkey*
1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Mrs. Dash
2-4 tbsp Italian breadcrumbs

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

Grill burgers, over medium heat or broil 4 inches from heat for 5-7 min on eash side or until a emat thermometer reads 165F and juices run clear.

* If you use ground turkey breast instead, you'll need to add an egg to make the mixture stick together.
